Our staff makes a big difference but the forest is the perfect setting for an amazing get away. We don't want food to be an issue while you visit the lodge so we prepare our kitchen to your needs. Make sure you do bathe in the waters they are so refreshing and energizing. With Fernando’s capable assistance, not just as a guide but as a photographer, we captured terrific shots of the beautiful wildlife. Everything about this lodge and experience was phenomenal exceeding our expectations, expectations which were high to begin with based on our research. For me, the hummingbird garden was the most incredible part. Every single staff member was so helpful. Amazing accommodation and staff, fantastic food, wonderful location an fabulous activities and your transfers to and from the lodge. Even a night when we would come back from dinner, our bed was turned down and our slippers placed nicely next to the bed. The only downside was that evening meals were of patchy quality and the piped music in the dining room was awful......give us silence please. Accommodation : We were in Room 2 which I believe is one of the Wayra Rooms. Originally we were only going to stay for one night but changed it to two. But the highlight was our hikes led by Manolo and Franklin. We liked the sky bike, waterfall hikes, life center, biologist talks and gondola rides etc. Beautiful waterfalls and so much nature watching at the nature center. His name was Nixon. We’re thrilled that you got to enjoy your forays into the forest with them! We visited the Science Lab, the main centre to see birds, orchids and butterflies, the Dragon Fly with a hike in the middle and the Sky Bike. They provide tall rubber boots and sturdy hiking sticks. The primary reason we were coming to Ecuador was to visit Mashpi Lodge, which is a pretty incredible-looking hotel located inside a cloud forest not far from Quito (well, not far distance wise, but with the roads, it takes quite a while)..
