If you like classic rock/blues, then this is a no-brainer, along with Led Zeppelin and The Doors. Perfect 60s vibe summer listening. But still the sound is not harsh as on other releases in 21st century. I bet it is digital. There will never be another Jimi Hendrix - he was a truly original guitarist and I would have loved to have been at Woodstock to see him melt his guitar playing the "Star Spangled Banner". However, the second record has a slight shape of a plate, but it does not affect the play, so I don't really care much about it. This CD has most of his well known songs plus a couple of the lesser ones. Guitar skills are just out of this world. For classic rock/blues fans, this is certainly not to be missed. Wide soundstage, great separation, high lows and mids. Both records are flat and with little to no surface noise. Unfortunately thats down to the recordings being made in the 1960's. It is all about the quality of the records themselves (which I would like to see more in other reviews in general).
