They don't rely too much on backstory or explanation.
Just had Hellboy wander around while other characters moan and bitch.

May 4th 2004 I love Hellboy's flip attitude and the way not everything has to have a logical explanation, but it's hard to feel satisfied by three straight stories that end with a shrug and "There you go," "You never see something like that coming," and "How's that?
Still, a very solid collection.I think I like each Hellboy trade I read a little bit more than the one before it.
This meandering, show plotted finale is my least favorite of the four omnibus editions. The Hellboy saga begins—with over 300 pages drawn by Mignola!
Hellboy Omnibus Volume 2: Strange Places (Hellboy Omnibus: Strange Places)

The story ends on a slightly open note that Mignola himself admits in the introduction and epilogue materials may not satisfy all of his readers but feels fitting for the character.
Drawing on numerous classical interpretations of Hell, Mignola's final book in the main Hellboy series is a gorgeous and haunting experience that is also reminiscent of Dante's Inferno (with Hellboy wandering the circles of Hell this time instead of Dante the poet).

Before Seed of Destruction, Hellboy spent fifty years fighting monsters as a somewhat carefree member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.
As a person who is an enormous life-time lover of folklore, mythology andFor some reason, I grabbed this graphic novel from my library, thinking it was the second in the series. The art is terrific, varying in shading and detail depending on the tone and circumstances of the story.
Got this right out of the box and the spine is dented and bent. I do hope Mike Mignola will do the same with the B.P.R.D.
Vale muito a pena conferir os perigos que cercam Hellboy no inferno e conferir mais um pouco do passado dele.

Hellboy Library Volume 4 collects two complete trade-paperbacks full of short stories: The Troll Witch and Other Stories and The Crooked Man, as well as an extensive selection of previously unreleased sketches and designs. 4 by Dark Horse Books
By now, I am deeply convinced that every man, woman, octopus and chest-of-drawers with even the least trace of self-esteem is bound to have a bit of a crush on Hellboy.
This 416 page volume covers Hellboy's adventures from 1998 to 2005, reprinting Conqueror Worm, Strange Places, Into the Silent Sea, and "The Right Hand of Doom, "Box Full of Evil," and "Being Human" from The Right Hand of Doom and B.P.R.D Being Human
The book draws on the many short stories Mignola wrote for the character as well as the main series' plot (you definitely do want to have read the short story collections, however, as a few characters from those stories show up here like Hellboy's "wife" and the vampire of Poland).
