Otherwise, a 4Runner would be my ideal option.Additionally, utility features such as AWD (I know both systems are different) are useful in getting into and out of camping spots. Compare the Honda Passport, Honda Pilot, and Toyota Highlander side by side to see differences in performance, pricing, features and more The interior seemed simple/somewhat cheap.I love the Outback but there are some reliability horror stories that scare me. The Highlander has 1.1 inches more front headroom, 1.1 inches more front legroom and 1.4 inches more rear legroom than the Passport. The current 6 cylinder has the 4 cylinder’s transmission, the XT will have a more robust transmission. Needs to be a family car, kinda narrowed it down between these options. I do not need three rows, but am looking for enough storage space to take two 60-65lb dogs and camping gear on a given weekend.I would also double the vehicle as a daily driver, and some human comforts are necessary. Select configuration: Sport FWD. I don’t know too many technical details but it’s a Lexus, I shouldn’t have to worry about it. Leading contender.

This is a typical request for a weekend warrior-mobile.Durability of the interior is a huge plus, but I’m not sure which of the two may be stronger.Passport Pros: -AWD system seems to be very advanced -Ride is comfortable, more so than Highlander -Apple CarPlay connectivity -Remote Start is standard for cold days -Neither are as aggressive looking as a 4Runner, but the Passport looks the best in my opinion (or at least least like an SUVinivan)Passport Cons: -Less storage -Higher price, at least at the moment -Questionable 9-speed transmission reliability, and maybe overall “predicted” reliability -Low profile tired on 20” rims can’t be too off-road worthy, can it?Highlander Pros: -Price -Reliability -120V outlet plug (which when camping is always useful) -More space than Passport, but not by much -Center Diff locker in a pinch for dirt/snowy roads when getting into and leaving camp sites.Highlander Cons: -Dated interior and headunit -Looks a lot like a minivan, in my opinionI’m not a huge fan of the looks of the Highlander, but with the price-point being lower I’m trying to convince myself from going with the Passport and just going with the 2019 Toyota Highlander. The in-laws have a 4 cylinder and it’s underpowered.

Passport Pros: -AWD system seems to be very advanced -Ride is comfortable, more so than Highlander -Apple CarPlay connectivity -Remote Start is standard for cold days -Neither are as aggressive looking as a 4Runner, but the Passport looks the best in my opinion (or at least least like an SUVinivan)
