Beautiful history there. See for yourself! The family enjoyed the planetarium immensely!!!
We’re in this together. There's also some great lectures and talks here. There is a parking garage on grounds that is right next to the planetarium too which was very convenient and worth the money.
Sorry guys.Love this addition to the Natural History Museum. "Dark Universe": No!
It should of sound like when you go out to a nightclub. I came home with a beautiful piece of art!
He started from humble beginnings to launch this family. Especially the different actors being people from that era.The grounds are magnificent. My 3 year old so loved seeing the animals in the museums and learning about the life of Mr. Vanderbilt- guide was good with little kids- then we went down the street to the beach!
Awesome location for photography with many scenic views. The structure itself seemed to be crumbling, in need of repair/cleaning (ie mold on the outside etc..) I'd recommend the Newport mansions to anyone, especially Marble House for anyone looking to get a gist of some Vanderbilt history. planning to return and check it other shows.First time here and have really enjoyed the museum and the story of the American richest manes muy bonito para los niños tiene cosas muy interesanteOn 12/27/19 visited the Vanderbilt Mansion Our tour guide Beverly did an incredible job telling the history of William K. Vanderbilt ll. Aiden's star show and night sky presentation was informative and entertaining. Been to the Planetarium dozens of times. My husband and I look forward to returning in the spring. To all that is reading many years ago I visited the Vanderbilt Museum I remembered a downstairs room with a bear standing in the corner it was in the memorial wing I brought my daughter there today and the tour guide laughed at me told me I was crazy there was no such a room whatever happened to this room that they don't know about.Had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful site on my recent visit to family in Long Island . It is something people of all ages can enjoy, and I recommend it highly. It was not a fun hour as the line was outside and it was really cold.

Bring along picnic basket and prepare to be engrossed in the sights and sounds.Great weather helped and beautiful location wonderful weddingTour was fascinating, grounds were lovely, but I think I picked up poison ivy somehow. I vaguely remembered the Planetarium. In addition to outstanding shows, our staff-led programming allows school groups to travel to the planet or galaxy of their choice. It gives you a really good perspective of who WKV was and just how important he was to New York and Long Island. Great kids show! !The history is very impressive as well:)))Friendly people! Also, check out the the Big Bang Theater, which depicts the birth of the universe to Liam Neeson narrating. I would totally recommend visiting this gem especially in the spring. And how about some pictures of such real people to relate to? It was beautiful and interesting.
Enjoyable for children and adults! There was also a Vanderbilt employee in costume in each room to tell us about the room we were in. Always a treat.Everything about it was awesome.
But I was bored rather early on into it.
Several telescopes are set up on the grounds and staff astronomers are available to help visitors identify objects in the night sky. GO. Lots of educational shows for the kids too.Truly magical place to visit with your loved ones and even by yourself to discover what Mr. Vanderbilt collected for many years and left to the people to see!Spent a beautiful day yesterday at the museum and planetarium. Neil deGrasse Tyson was a perfect choice to narrate.
Experience full-dome planetarium shows with mind-bending visuals set to music in the museum's 55ft Digital Dome Planetarium.
If I come back, I'll look up reviews of the presenters and topic beforehand.
It was enjoyable for his nine-year-old sister and her best friend as well.my suggestion would be get their significantly earlier than your Showtime if you do not buy tickets in advance and you are there on a weekend or School holiday because we got there 20 minutes prior to show time and our show was sold out. It is definitely expensive (hence the 4 stars) but they have a great eye and can make a piece…""Amazing space. Will visit again.Absolutely love this place.
Do yourself a favor and skip this. Come on Suffolk County how long is that renovation going to take place??
It was incredibly informative and was scored beautifully. Because COVID-19 has reduced the number of programs the Planetarium can safely offer, we need your help now to continue educational programming for your family and our community.
the perfect venue for it . Will definitely come back to visit! The Hayden Planetarium is located inside the American Museum of Natural History. MacMillan Space Centre - To educate, inspire, and evoke a sense of wonder about the universe, our planet, and space exploration. It was wonderful and the kids loved it! Shows are $3 for VLM members, $6 for non-members. We used an hour wait to look through the Museum in the mansion can my kids really enjoyed all of the cool sea creatures and shells and exotic birds and butterflies. Must see for sure !! Years ago I brought my husband who loves both astronomy and history and he fell in love with it as well. I was there last 30 years ago. Stargazing is weather dependent.
Then had lunch at one of the many picnic tables with a beautiful view ... followed by an educational visit to the museum!
