Was this review helpful? Hunter Prey keeps you guessing right up to the very end. I'd have to say that "Hunter Prey" is the best low budget, sci-fi film I've seen a very long time. His film was obviously made with lots of love and attention to make it as real as possible and not to rely on CGI. When I saw Hunter Prey, that was the proof and I was not disappointed! Hunter Prey is unique not only in the way it's presented visually, but in how the story is told. The locations were awe-inspiring and lent themselves well to the story. Obviously all the movies, comic books and monster magazines sandy read as a kid, are his inspirations in the movie. Was this review helpful? "Hunter Prey" is beautiful. The thing that impresses about this film is the really nice makeup work on the alien masks and the costume. I was impressed at how good this film looks and what Collora and his crew were able to do with a low budget movie. What a surprise treat this film was. If you can find this I highly recommend it as its a great low budget sci-fi flick in the same realms as 'Enemy Mine'.

Both the alien and the human are developed enough to feel very real, and the location that the film takes place in, is absolutely breathtaking. Went to a screening at USC and this movie was awesome. Quite honestly I loved it. When playing as Morgan, it’s not wise to simply run around and whack every object you see. Hunter Prey is chock full of old school sci fi goodness and delivers a film that in my opinion is just as visually cool as Transformers or anything like that, but with a much, much, much better story. In the world of American cinema dominated by the Michael Bays and James Camerons of the world, it was delightful to see such subtle and artistically driven sensibilities especially from an American director. It's hard to be ambitious in this genre without the money and the means. I was blown away at the level of design and attention to detail in absolutely everything in this movie, especially for the low budget. It has its problems as all movies do, but they stem more from budgetary issues in this case, than anything else. I would see a movie like this over some of the Hollywood smegma in the cinema anytime. It has all the right elements that make a good science fiction film. Anyway, Hunter Prey kind of reminded me of a western, just with aliens instead of cowboys and blows away anything I've seen on Sy Fy channel.

Sandy Collora doesn't go for the cheap seats here, he relies on good old fashioned storytelling, solid character performances and stunning cinematography to engage his audience, where most of his contemporaries look to special effects and movie stars to accomplish that. I like that in the movies I watch, it makes the experience not so predictable and common. Adding overkill to the heartache is a never-ending flow of remakes and TV-turned-Big Screen movies. 86 out of 102 found this helpful. Hunter Prey is just the kind of thing that channel should be filled with, but instead all we get is silly, dimwitted, fodder designed for nothing beyond a Saturday evening with beer and burgers. The movie was very intriguing, you don't really know who to root for because both characters can be good guys. I loved this movie, and I can't stop thinking about it. The image is an example of a ticket confirmation email that AMC sent you when you purchased your ticket. 3.9 out of 5 stars. Hunter Prey was better than some genre films I've seen that even got a theater showing. Collara didn't have anywhere near that kind of money for this movie, yet it looks as good or better than anything I've seen in the theater this summer. It stars Damion Poitier, Isaac C. Singleton Jr. and Clark Bartram. The acting is good, the story though simple, is very engaging, it looks marvelous and is very well directed.
