Deakin was one of those writers who scoops you up and drags you along on his journey and what a journey it is. It is amazing to me that he got out alive very much regretting his lack of equipment and failure to tell anyone where he was going.

It is not only about swimming in out of the way places, it reminds and reveals to us that what a beautiful country we live in and not take for granted what we are told but go see for ourselves. I am not disappointed.
