We were a week or two early even though it was the second week of October. For my first time staying in a cabin, this was straight out of the story books.

Both times we have had a quiet and peaceful experience. Location. A very pleasant surprise.One of my co-workers recommended this place. Many of our guests are customers who visit multiple times and enjoy their vacation in the mountains with us every year.Second year coming up to a little slice of heaven. !The cabin # 25 was near the highway, dusty, musty smelling and in need of repair and updating. We come from across the country so having fully furnished cabins is a must and with the large gathering area around the Victorian House the setting was perfect. But everything work well, clean and neat. We even made a snowman in the front yard! !You can look at each cabin on website..The staff will answer all your questions!The Whispering Pines Resort in Pinetop-Lakeside was wonderful. Ours was the deluxe cottage that came with a fireplace and jacuzzi, paid $145 inclusive of taxes and resort fee which was little too much considering the area. Loved it! They literally laughed at us and said we are still open.There are a few things going for this place: weather in the evening - the air is clean and fresh, it's cool and quiet; water pressure in the shower; and water quality.This review is long overdue. It wasn’t very hot inside though, but it was somewhat. What I didn't like was the room heater - noisy and made this sound all night. Take in a cozy hike or bike on the adjoining trails to Woodland Lake or Walnut Creek. The staff is also so nice and welcoming. The door would not close properly and there was no air coditionining.

Located next to the Woodland Lake Park hiking trails! For us it worked well and kept us cool. The cabin and whole resort is clean and safe. We like cabin 30 since it has a Jacuzzi tub and is towards the back of the property which greatly decreases road noise. All cabins are furnished, carpeted, and stocked with firewood - some units even have spa tubs! We will definitely be back.We have stayed here twice now. Many of our staff have been long-time employees. The staff is accommodating, friendly and makes you feel so welcome. This is our second year of coming up to Pinetop for Spring Break. Thank goodness for the fireplace and stack of firewood as it was cool this trip!

While there's other cabins around, it does feel like you're alone in the woods, with some of the cabin's opening out almost directly onto the hiking trail that eventually leads to a neighboring lake. I want to come back in the winter and stay when there is snow. The curtains were falling apart, the bedding, carpet and linens worn.

Firewood was provided (a stack was on the front porch), all cookware and silverware was provided as well. I will definitely recommend and refer this place and return...
